Terms of Service

Overview

Proteanbits provides MVP development, education, and technology consultancy services. By engaging us — whether through a quote request, signed proposal, or verbal agreement — you agree to these terms.

Pricing and payment

• Our standard rate is $50–$200 USD per hour, depending on the scope and total engagement size. Larger engagements attract a lower rate — this is always stated upfront before work begins.
• Fixed-price projects are available and will be agreed in writing before work starts.
• Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed.
• We are open to equity arrangements for early-stage startups in lieu of, or in addition to, hourly compensation. These are negotiated case by case and documented in a separate agreement.

Intellectual property

Upon full payment, all custom work produced for you becomes your property. We retain the right to mention the engagement in our portfolio (e.g. company name, general description) unless you request otherwise in writing.

We may use open-source libraries and frameworks — their respective licences apply. We will flag any licensing constraints before they affect your project.

Limitation of liability

Our liability is limited to the total amount paid for the specific engagement in which an issue arises. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

We work transparently and flag risks early — if something will be harder or different than expected, we tell you before it costs you.

Ending an engagement

Termination terms are defined in each individual engagement agreement. You pay for work completed to the date of termination. Deliverables and code produced up to that point are yours upon settlement of any outstanding invoices.
